The State of the Church in Our Fast-Changing World

The Christian Outlook – April 28, 2018

Pastor John MacArthur and Frank Sontag examine the state of the Church and how there is an up and coming revival of genuine desire for Biblically sound doctrine. Albert Mohler explains details of California bill AB2943 that would make it illegal to sell certain books found on book tables at religious conferences such as Pastor John MacArthur’s recent “Shepherd’s Conference.” Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is an evangelical Christian and is convictional on Christian moral issues which, though now too late, New Jersey Senator Corey Booker seemed to think was sufficient grounds to disqualify him. Don Kroah turns to Mat Staver of the Liberty Counsel to discuss what the U. S. Constitution says about the office qualifications. Jesus Christ’s Great Commission is examined by Don Kroah and Wayne Pederson, Executive Director of the group, “International Day for the Unreached.” Emerson Eggerich, author of “The 4 Wills of God: The Way He Directs Our Steps and Frees Us to Direct Our Own,” joins Eric Metaxas. Facebook and it’s CED, Mark Zuckerberg, are under fire for how the social media giant sells or makes use of the data of their estimated 2.2 billion users and Karol Markowicz of the New York Post and Kevin McCullough examine issue. While some feel the future of Christianity looks dim, author Brian Stiller and Georgene Rice talk about how it’s only moved to Timbuktu as they discuss his new book, “From Jerusalem to Timbuktu: A World Tour of the Spread of Christianity.” Eric Metaxas and biographer Greg Thornbury travel back to the late 1960’s and early 1970’s  to look at the life of Larry Norman, widely recognized as a pioneer of Christian rock and roll. And while they are there, they also examine the Jesus Movement and the messy and undeniable work of the Spirit in the lives of many within that subculture.
